College of Charleston networks give preference to academic applications. The College does allow legal music downloads and online gaming, but access may be limited through the use of bandwidth management tools in order to ensure an acceptable level of academic use and performance for all students. Illegal computer use and copyright violations are against the College's honor code and will be handled accordingly. The College will also support appropriate investigations of any of these activities.
Wireless Router Policy
Campus Technologies prohibits the use of unauthorized wireless networks. Unauthorized wireless networks are defined as wireless networks created by students using access points or wireless routers. Unauthorized (or rogue) wireless access points may conflict with the College's wireless network, and they pose a substantial security risk to the ResNet network.
