Install Updates from the Windows Update Site for Windows XP & 2000

You can install updates for Windows by visiting http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com.  Once you access the Windows Update page, follow the instructions shown below. 

It is very important that you install all high priority updates.  These updates protect your computer from known security risks. 

Select “Express”.

Select "Install Updates"

Note:  If the above window displays "No updates available", then you already have all the necessary updates.  You are finished and can exit the Windows update site.
 

Once the installation begins, you will see a window similar to the one shown above.

The above screen will appear when the installation process is complete.  Most updates will require you to restart your computer.

Select "Restart Now".
